Keep the insects out… with Flower Blinds Fly Screens. They are an easy and affordable way to keep the breeze flowing through your home, whilst keeping flies, mosquitoes and other insects out.
Insect Screens are a simple product that are measured to fit perfectly over all window types (including sliding, double hung windows, and casement windows) as well as sliding doors, bi fold doors and french doors. They have a simple “clearview” design and work well in both in new and old homes.
Are Flyscreens Expensive?
Flyscreens are the most economical and affordable screening solution and come at a reasonable price.
What is the Difference between a Flyscreen and an Insect Screen?
Both refer exactly to the exact same product, and the terms are used interchangeably.
Can Flyscreens be Installed on Old Style Windows?
Yes – Usually this requires some form of channels and aluminium angles.
Do you offer a Re-Meshing Service?
Yes. If you have old mesh with holes, or simply wish to refresh the look of the screen, we can remesh your existing security screens and fly screens.
Do you do Retractable Insect Screens as well?
No. Having been in the industry for over 30 years, we have come across many changes, improvements, and modernizations to both blinds and security screens. We have tried to introduce all the new variants of Magnetic and Retractable Fly Screens into our product range many times, however in our professional opinion, have found that the quality isn’t quite there yet for us to adopt into our product line as a “high quality item”. We love the idea of retractable screens, but until they are manufactured to our expected high standard, they will be out of our business scope.
Are Insect Screens worth it?
At a bare minimum, we recommend fly screens to any house. They’re highly economical and effective at keeping flies and other bugs out.
Do Flyscreens stop Dust?
They prevent a significant amount of dust particles from entering your home, although they’re not designed as a dust barrier, but rather to maintain airflow.
What are Flyscreens made of?
Our Flyscreens consist of an aluminium window frame with splined-in fibreglass flymesh.
Should Flyscreens be fitted inside or outside?
This depends on your window and window brand. Our fly screen installers are highly experienced and trained, and will know best how to install and your screens.
Can Spiders get through the fly screen mesh?
No. They are tighly woven to prevent insects from getting through. Some residential areas around Australia can be exposed to tiny Midges which can get through the standard fly mesh – we do offer a special “Midge Mesh” which is specifically made to prevent tiny Midges from entering your home.
Our consultants offer a pressure-free quote service, showing you available colours and options, and allowing you to decide on your purchase in your own time. No superficial pushy sales reps, just good old exceptional customer service as it should be, coupled with professional advice.
Our Brisbane team of experienced fitters perform a free measure, and offer perfection in their installation. They install according to a strict set of requirements.
Consider Insect Screens as an entry level solution towards a fly free home. If you require a higher level of security, you could consider upgrading to 7mm diamond security or even Forcefield Stainless Steel Security.
